Description

Manor House Farm House is a 1696 farmhouse with a symmetrical facade, located in Stoke St Michael. It is constructed of rendered material with a pantile roof, coped verges, and a decorative finial on the left side. A prominent ashlar stack rises on the right, featuring a moulded capping. The house follows a "U" plan, and it is two storeys and an attic in height. The front features five bays, each with two-light stone mullioned windows with ovolo moulding and a continuous string course along their heads. The central doorway has an ovolo-moulded stone architrave, leading to a late 18th-century six-panelled door with glazed upper lights. A flat-roofed ashlar porch with a Roman Doric doorpiece may incorporate reused elements from the ruins of a 17th-century house situated 350 metres northwest of the property. The returns of the house also have two-light stone mullioned windows with ovolo moulding. Ashlar gate piers with pyramidal caps mark the forecourt.
