Description
The Knatchbull Arms is a house that has been converted into an inn, dating from the late 17th century. It is constructed of rubble with rough quoins and features a 20th-century double Roman tile roof, along with late 19th-century brick stacks on each gable. The building has an "L"-shaped plan, with the main block having a double span roof. It stands two storeys high with an attic and consists of four bays. The windows are primarily 2- and 3-light stone mullioned with ovolo moulding and angled labels above, except for two 19th-century stone mullioned casements with two lights on the left side of the ground floor, and two sashes with glazing bars above in plain stone architraves. There are two gabled dormers with copings and saddle stones. The central porch is two-storey and gabled, featuring a doorway with an eared and moulded architrave and a blocked two-light casement above. Each side of the porch has a four-keyed oval window. To the left of the facade, there is a single-storey wing with a single bay, and to the right, there is a pent-roofed outshut. The returns have two-light mullioned windows.
