Description
The Old Rectory is a house that was originally built as a rectory in the early 19th century. It features a rendered exterior with painted alternating stone quoins and a hipped slate roof. The building has ashlar end stacks with moulded caps and presents a symmetrical front. It is two storeys high with three bays, each fitted with 16-pane sash windows and 20th-century louvred shutters. The central door opening has a moulded architrave and a fanlight with glazing bars, leading to a 20th-century six-panelled door. Above the door is a re-used semi-circular stone hood supported by ornamental stone brackets. The returns and rear of the building are designed in a similar style, and there are minor interior features from the same period. The Old Rectory is marked on the Ordnance Survey map as Holcombe House.
