Description
The Manor is a house dating from the late 18th century, with some alterations from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of ashlar stone and features end pilasters, a plain band at the first floor, a cornice, and a parapet with coping. The roof is hipped and covered with slate, and there are ashlar stacks. The building has two storeys and four bays, with sash windows that include glazing bars. To the left, there is a flat-roofed porch with angle pilasters, a cornice, and a blocking course. The door opening has an elliptical head and is adorned with a fanlight that also has glazing bars, along with panelled doors and sidelights. Inside, the Manor boasts a rich interior with impressive plasterwork, a staircase, panelled doors, and additional lesser features. The house was once the residence of the Scott family, including the explorer Robert Falcon Scott.
