4/501 Stable and Coach-house adjoining No 4

GV II

Stable and coach-house. Mid C19 (c.1840), altered. Coursed squared stone with ashlar, dressings; pantile roof. 1½ storeys, 2 bays. Board door on left with fanlight; carriage door on right with double board door; each under ashlar. Segmental arch with raised keystone and end voussoirs, arches linked by band and the carriage doorway with stone blocks from which doors are hung. Between the 2 doorways a tall window. Above left-hand door and linked to it is a keyed oculus with board hatch. Above carriage door is a taking-in doorway, now part weatherboarded and with small pane window, which rises above eaves.
