Description
No. 4 Sun Street is a house dating from around 1800, which has been altered over time. It is constructed of rubblestone with a pantile roof and features a rubblestone chimney that has been heightened in brick. The building has two storeys with an attic and is arranged in one by two bays.
On the ground floor, there is a board door on the left, set within a stone surround that includes tie-stones and chamfered jambs. To the right of the door, there is a blocked window. On the first floor, there is a late 19th-century four-pane sash window framed in wooden architrave. The attic features a nine-pane unequally-hung sash window in a pent-roofed dormer. A stack is located at the left side of the house.
This property is part of a group of historical houses on the south side of Sun Street, as noted in a report by the Royal Commission on Historical Monuments (England) from 1982.
