Description

This is a late 17th or early 18th century building that has been altered over time. It is two storeys and has an attic. The exterior is painted rubble, with a pantile roof. The building has an L-shape, with a single bay on the left and a two-window-wide gabled projection to the right. The first floor of the gabled wing has glazing bar sashes with segment-headed tops and keyed architraves. There's a blind arch above, likely for a former hoist. A wrought-iron balcony is located at the first-floor level of the left-hand window, while the windows below have a section of cornice from around 1700, which may have been redressed. The front door is situated in an angle and has a moulded flat hood. The ground floor of the gabled wing originally had three arched openings, but these have now been altered to create a garage entrance. The gabled wing was used as a malthouse in the 19th century. A cast-iron lamp post, featuring a local ornamental design, sits on the pitched path in front of the building. A gabled extension is present at the rear. The attic has a blocked two-light mullion window, with paired glazing bar sashes beneath.
