Description

The Coach House and adjoining stable block, originally built as a coach house and stable, is now a house. It dates from 1763 and was remodeled in the mid-19th century, with some alterations made in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and has slate roofs. It features coped ashlar ridge and gable stacks with square double flues, and there is a first-floor band across the central bays. The stepped coped gables have kneelers and finials.

The structure is two storeys high and has a seven-window range. The central entrance bay projects and has a gabled-headed blank panel with a datestone. Below this is a blocked square-headed carriage entrance flanked by buttresses. On either side of the entrance, there are two small square windows with chamfered stone surrounds, followed by single through-eaves dormers with coped gables and three-light stone mullioned casements. Below these dormers, there are a four-light and a three-light casement with glazing bars on either side. To the right, there is a board door with a chamfered surround.

The single-storey stable block is attached by a boundary wall and a 20th-century link building, featuring coped gables. It has two double carriage doors with a cast-iron glazing bar casement positioned between them.
