Description
The Old Rectory is a former rectory that has been converted into a house. It dates from the late 17th century, with additions and alterations made in the mid and late 19th century. The building is constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings and features steeply pitched roofs covered in glazed pantiles and slate. It has two renewed rendered brick gable stacks and stands two storeys high, with a six-window range of 19th-century wooden framed cross casements that have wooden cornices.
The entrance is marked by an off-centre 19th-century flat-roofed ashlar porch that shelters a half-glazed door. Flanking the door are two 2-light wooden framed cross casements with leaded glazing and wooden cornices, and to the left, there is a similar 3-light casement. At the rear, there is a late 19th-century brick addition that is two storeys high and has a flat roof. The double rear wings feature a large side wall stack as well as 19th-century ridge and gable stacks. The right return of the building includes 19th-century segment-headed windows and a door, along with a slate sundial positioned above.
