Stable And Coach House, 5 Metres North Of No 25 (Brooke House)

This stable and coach house, located 5 metres north of No 25 (Brooke House), dates from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of random rubble with a roof that features two different pitches, covered in triple-Roman tiles on the left and double-Roman tiles on the right. The right side has a coped verge with a base for a finial. The building has an irregular frontage that is positioned at right angles to Lower Street and consists of two storeys.

On the left side, there is a broad segmental-headed carriage opening framed in stone, which has an emphasized keystone. Above this opening, there is an oval pitching eye set within a bead-moulded mullioned and transomed window, also in a segmental-headed stone surround. Above this, there is another pitching eye in a similarly moulded stone surround. To the right, there is a two-light bead-moulded stone-mullioned window.

The building features two door openings; the one on the left is in a segmental-headed stone surround and has plank doors. There is also a door opening to the first floor on the right return, which has double plank doors and is accessed by a flight of 20th-century wooden steps. The structure is topped with an 18th-century "A" frame roof.
