Description
Sheriff Hales is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of random rubble and features a moulded eaves cornice, a triple-Roman tile roof, and a brick ridge stack on the right side. The building has two storeys and an attic, with six bays. The late 19th-century sash windows are set in bead-moulded stone surrounds, with each ground floor window having a cornice dripmould. The third opening on the first floor is blank and has a similarly moulded semi-circular stone surround with emphasised imposts and a keystone. The door opening is also in a bead-moulded stone surround and features a six-panelled door, with the top two panels glazed, and a moulded slab stone hood supported by cut stone brackets.
