Description
Chelsea Villa is a house built in the early 19th century. It features ashlar stonework, a moulded cornice, a parapet with plain coping, and a hipped slate roof with a single brick stack. The symmetrical frontage consists of two storeys and three bays, with sash windows that have glazing bars; the ground floor windows have 12 panes, while the first floor windows are smaller with 16 panes. There is a plain sill band beneath the first floor windows. The central door opening has paired half-glazed doors with coloured glass and is sheltered by a flat-roofed 20th-century half-glazed porch. At the rear, there is a 20th-century pent-roofed outshut. Inside, the house retains some early 19th-century features, including six-panelled doors in fluted surrounds, window shutters on the front ground floor windows, and fireplaces in fluted wooden surrounds in each of the first-floor rooms.
