Description
The wall enclosing the garden to the east of Manor Farmhouse dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and rubble and surrounds a large U-shaped area. The section facing Stawell Road is made of brick, approximately 2 meters high, and extends for 40 meters, topped with pantiled capping, although some of the brick facings are significantly eroded. At the extreme east end, there is a further section of rubble wall, about 3 meters high, which extends for 48 meters along the west side of Ford Lane. At the north end of this rubble section, another brick wall, also around 2 meters high, returns west towards Manor Farmhouse. This wall is included mainly for its group value with Manor Farmhouse and is an important feature in the village.
