Description

A large barn, dating to the 18th century, is located within the farmyard at Manor Farm. The barn is constructed of coursed and squared rubble with hipped and gabled roofs covered in single-Roman tiles. The verge copings are finished with an ornamental finial. The main rectangular range runs north-south and is positioned at a right angle to the road. There are two large waggon entrances, set within shallow projecting porches, on the east side. A further wing extends to the south end, facing the roadside, and its ridge runs at a right angle to the main range. The waggon entrances have plank doors and are partly obscured by corrugated-iron sheeting. The wing has a keyed oval opening in its gable face. The roadside elevation is partially weatherboarded and features plank doors. This is a good example of a regional barn type with only minor alterations.
