Description
Onaping House, also known as The Poplars, is a house that has been divided into two dwellings. It dates from the 16th or 17th century, with early 20th-century alterations. The exterior is roughcast with a pantile roof and features three brick stacks. The building has a cross-passage plan and is single storey with an attic, comprising three bays. It includes three and four-light casements with horizontal glazing bars, two of which are located on the first floor in half-dormers that have single-pitch roofs and brick jambs. There are two door openings: to the left is a six-panelled door with the top two panels glazed and brick jambs, while to the right is a plank door. A lower wing extends at right angles to the rear. Inside, the property features chamfered and stopped ceiling beams, and stud and panel partitions can be found in Onaping House, with two further partitions reported to exist in The Poplars.
