Hainbury House, With Gate Piers, 10 Metres South Of The House

Hainbury House is a small country house dating from the mid-18th century, with some early 20th-century modifications. It is constructed of local stone that is cut, squared, and coursed, topped with a hipped roof made of Cornish slate that features a wide eaves overhang and wood-bracketed soffits. The house is two stories tall and has three bays, with a plinth, a band course, and rusticated quoins. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door topped by a semi-circular fanlight, all framed by a semi-classical stone pilastered doorcase with a pediment above. There are 16-pane sash windows with heavy stone voussoired lintels that include false keystones; the center window on the first floor has a semi-circular arched head in a rusticated surround. Located 10 meters south of the house are a pair of rusticated gate piers made of local stone, each topped with moulded hipped caps.
