Description

Peace Close Cottage is a cottage that likely dates from the late 18th century. It is built from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, and features a double Roman clay tiled roof with coped gables. There is a stone chimney stack on the west gable. The cottage has two storeys and two bays. The upper floor has two-light small pane casements of an early pattern, while the lower bay one has a 20th-century three-light timber casement with a timber lintel. Bay two features a panelled door in a heavy frame, also under a timber lintel. The interior has not been seen. Extending east from the cottage is a stone boundary wall that is gutter-high, which becomes the gable end of a barn that has a datestone reading 'CD 1762'. The barn is not included in this listing.
