Description
Lower Farm House is a farmhouse that was formerly a village inn, dating from the 18th century. It is constructed of fine ashlar made from lias stone and features a clay pantiled roof with coped gables and stone chimney stacks. The building has two storeys and attics, with a four-bay east elevation where the outer bays project as gables. It has 16-pane sash windows in plain openings, including attic gable windows. The window in the lower bay one is larger, while lower bays two and three have matching French doors. The entrance is located on the north side and includes a timber and tiled porch, along with a long extension on the rear north-west corner. The interior has not been seen but is said to have cellars cut into the bedrock.
