Description
Crown Cottage is a detached cottage dating from the late 18th century, located on Back Street in Long Sutton. It is constructed from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, with the gables featuring pebbledash rendering and colorwashing. The cottage has a thatched roof set between stepped coped gables and includes brick chimney stacks at the ends.
The building is two storeys high and consists of three bays. It features horizontal bar casement windows with three lights, except for the upper centre bay which has two lights. The lower windows are set under deep dovetailed stone lintels, while the upper windows are under timber lintels. There is an early 20th-century part-glazed door located in a central recess beneath a stone lintel. The interior has not been seen. Additionally, there is a timber lean-to garage with a clay pantiled roof attached to the west gable.
