Description

This is a portion of a churchyard cross dating from the 15th century, located north of the Church of the Holy Trinity. It is made of Ham stone and features a square base that has been shaped into an octagon above. The cross has attached square columns on alternate faces and shows traces of carvings in panels on the principal faces. The top is moulded and includes a square socket for the shaft. A nearly complete example of this type of cross can be found at nearby Charlton Mackrell.
