Description

The south gateway, located about 100 meters south of the Manor House, dates from the 18th century. It is constructed from local lias and Ham stone and features a wrought iron gate. The gate piers have a plain square plan with non-classical moulded tops that end in step and necked squat obelisks. The gates themselves have curved top rails, with scroll work on the top and middle rails, and twist spear points on the bottom rails. This gateway is significant in the streetscape and contributes to the setting of the Manor House.
