Description
The north boundary wall and gateways to The Manor House date from the 18th and 19th centuries. Constructed from Ham stone ashlar, the walls feature plain thin copings and vary in height, with curved sweeps at changes in level. The gateway to the east of the house has square piers with plinths, frieze bands, and plain bell-hipped tops, along with a pair of 20th-century wrought-iron gates. The gateway opposite the door in the north elevation of the west wing of the Manor House has square rusticated piers with cornice caps and stepped pyramid caps, and a 20th-century timber gate. The wall is attached to the north-east and north-west corners of the east wing of the house, enhancing its setting and serving as an important feature in the streetscape.
