Description

This is a detached cottage from the 18th century, located about 35 metres southeast of the junction with the B3151 in Compton Dundon. The cottage is constructed from local lias stone that is cut and squared, with a roughly coursed appearance. It features a thatched roof that has undulating sweeps over the upper windows and plain gables, along with brick chimney stacks that have traditional baffles. The building has an L-plan layout and is a single storey with attics, presenting a four-bay east elevation facing the main road. The windows on this elevation are 2-light casements with small leaded-lights, set under timber lintels, with the second bay and the fourth bay being blank. On the south elevation facing Ham Lane, there is a random arrangement of four upper casements and five lower casements, all matching in style. The entrance is located in the west gable. The interior has not been seen.
