Description
The former tithe barn at Castlebrook Farm is a building that likely dates back to the 15th century. It is constructed from local lias stone that has been cut and squared, and it features a thatched roof with plain gables. The barn has four bays. On the north elevation, there are 20th-century doors, a slit opening in the first bay leading to the second bay, a stable door with a heavy triangular arch-headed chamfered frame in the third bay, and a loft door set into the thatch in the fourth bay. The east gable has a boarded door on the left, above which is a quatrefoil vent, and to the left of this is a sculptured head. There is a later extension against the west gable. Inside, the barn features one raised cruck truss with an arch-braced cambered collar.
