Walls Enclosing Garden And Summerhouse, About 40 Metres North Of Amberd House

The walls enclosing the garden and summerhouse, located about 40 metres north of Amberd House, date from the late 18th century, while the summerhouse itself is likely from the early 19th century and was restored in the late 20th century. The walls are made of red brick, and the summerhouse features a pyramid thatched roof supported by a timber frame on a rubble plinth. The overall plan is rectangular, with a barn attached to the east side and the summerhouse positioned on the south front. The south front wall steps down on either side of the summerhouse, which has a single bay that is two stories high. The ground floor includes a two-light arched Gothic window, while the first floor consists of an open timber-framed summerhouse surrounded by a balustrade. The wall is accented with brick pilasters that form shallow buttresses.
