ST 22 SW AMBERD LANE (south side) 9/254 Staplehay Walls enclosing garden and summerhouse, about 40 metres north of Amberd House

GV II

Walls enclosing garden, late C18; and summerhouse probably early C19 restored late C20. Red brick; pyramid thatched roof to timber framed summerhouse on rubble plinth. Plan; rectangular with barn (qv) abutting east side, summerhouse on south front, building at west end not of special interest. South front wall stepped down flanking summerhouse, 2-storey single bay, ground floor 2-light arched Gothic window, first floor open timber framed summerhouse surrounded by balustrade. Wall with brick pilasters forming shallow buttresses.
