Description

Haygrove Farmhouse is likely a 18th-century farmhouse, probably with earlier origins, that was significantly altered in the early 19th century on its north front. The east front is rendered to resemble ashlar, while the north front is constructed of random rubble and buff bricks. The building has a shallow-pitched hipped slate roof and overhanging eaves with boarded soffits on the east front, with brick stacks rising from the eaves.

The original range likely ran east-west, and it has been extended with a north-west cross wing and an agricultural range on the north front. A double-pile addition to the east front incorporates a verandah.

The two-storey east front features three bays with 15-pane sash windows on the first floor and 20-pane windows on the ground floor. A central semi-circular recess forms a porch to a double door with a leaded fanlight. A seven-bay hipped slate roof verandah has been rebuilt with concrete posts. To the right, set back, is a lean-to roof over a two-storey roughcast single bay which has a loft opening above a square-headed door. The interior of the farmhouse has not been inspected.
