Description
The summerhouse and walled garden located to the north of the Old Rectory date from the 18th century or early 19th century, while the summerhouse itself was built between 1861 and 1862. The garden walls consist of an outer skin of coursed limestone and an inner skin of brick, topped with tiled copings. The summerhouse is made of brick and features a slated roof. The walls enclose three sides of a square, with the summerhouse positioned in the center of the north wall. The summerhouse has a gabled front with an arched central door, flanked by windows that create a Palladian appearance, and it features cogged eaves beneath an open pediment.
