Description

The Cuba Public House, dating to circa 1860, occupies a corner site on Newport Road, at the junction with Church Street. It is a two-storey building with four windows facing north and four facing west. The corner is chamfered, featuring a blind window above the blocked original doorway. The building is of stuccoed brick construction with a slate roof and two brick chimneys, distinguished by yellow brick quoins and cap bands. A moulded eaves cornice runs along the top. The sash windows have glazing bars, with architraves framing them. The first-floor windows have segmental heads, while those on the ground floor are round-headed with key stones. The second opening from the left features a glazed door with side lights and a radiating fanlight. A rectangular glazed doorway is present on the Church Street elevation. A lower extension is visible to the south.
