Description

  1. 5135 NEWPORT ROAD (South Side) Wolverton Stonebridgehouse Farmhouse SP 8241 3/12 12.6.53.

  1. Early to mid C18 limestone house standing gable end to road. In plan 2 houses joined at north-east end and separated by narrow gulley. Gable ends to road joined by parapet. 2 storey with steep old tile roofs, raised verges with simply carved kneelers and late brick chimney stacks. 3 unequally. spaced hipped dormers. 4 windows on 1st floor are sash with glazing bars in plain flush frames. 3 similar windows on ground floor with flat arches. Moulded stone eaves. Stone doorcase with pilasters and entablature. Pair of glazed doors with marginal glazing, panelled reveals and soffit. The south-east front has 3 windows with wooden lintels (one with brick dressings on 1st floor). Glazing bar sash windows, except for casement window to right on ground floor. Glazed door.
