Description

Wightwick House is an early 19th century house with a later addition, located on Wightwick Bank in Wolverhampton. The exterior is of stuccoed brick, with hipped slate roofs and stucco stacks. The main block is two storeys high and has seven windows, while a later cross wing extends to the left. The windows are predominantly 12-pane sashes; those on either side of the entrance have anthemion friezes above the heads. The cross wing windows are 4-pane sashes, with one casement window to the right. The round-headed entrance features a pediment supported by slender columns and a fanlight with decorative glazing bars over a 6-fielded-panelled door. The return side of the house has two large canted bays with cornices. The interior includes a hall with a marble fireplace and a plain staircase.
