Description
This cottage, located to the north-east of Holcombe (Brookside), dates from the 16th or 17th century and has undergone some later alterations. It features a rendered and colourwashed exterior with a thatched roof and a rubble stack on the right side. The building has a gable entry plan and is a single storey with an attic. There are two windows on the ground floor, which are 2-light casements with leaded lights and wooden lintels. In the attic, there is a similar casement window set under an eyebrow. The door opening is located on the right return and has a plank door. Adjacent to the door is a projecting bread oven, and there is also a 20th-century lean-to attached to the cottage.
