Description
Bishpool Farmhouse is a farmhouse dwelling that dates from the 17th century and was enlarged in the 18th century. It features roughcast over cob and rubble, with slate roofs and coped verges on the main block. There are brick stacks at the left and right gable ends of the main block, as well as at the left and right gable ends of a lower, independently roofed addition to the right. The building has an "L"-shaped plan, consisting of two cells and a cross passage, facing south onto the farmyard, with additions to the east for the kitchen and at the northwest corner. It is two stories high with four bays on the front. The first floor has two- and three-light casement windows, while the ground floor features three-light windows in the outer bays and a four-light window in the center. To the left, there is a 20th-century door behind a 20th-century conservatory, and to the right, there is a plank door with a slate pentice hood. At the rear, there is an outshut with a catslide roof. Inside, the farmhouse has chamfered beams with run-out stops.
