Description

No 2, formerly No 5, is a villa dating from around 1830, now used as a doctors' surgery, with extensions added in the mid-19th century. The building is rendered and features a Welsh slated hipped roof with wide overhanging eaves and a rendered stack on the north side. The entrance is set back from the main facade and consists of a 4-panel door in a chamfered semi-circular headed opening, topped by a fanlight with radial glazing bars. Above this, there is a late 20th-century aluminium window in a plain surround.

The main front includes an angled single-storey bay window with four semi-circular arched windows, each containing 8-pane sash windows with a deadlight. Above the cornice of this bay, there is cast iron balcony ironwork. The first-floor window is a combination of two narrow and one wide 6-paned sash window set in a plain architrave.

At the rear, there is a rendered extension with a hipped slate roof that rises three storeys. This extension features a 16-pane sash window and a late 20th-century glazed door at ground floor level, along with 12-pane and 6-pane sash windows on the first and second floors, respectively. The interior details were not observed.

The property is enclosed by a high stone boundary wall, which retains its simple gate piers that include ironwork and a re-used gas lamp positioned between them. There are iron gates and wrought iron railings along the top of the wall, as well as an arched side entrance integrated into the wall.
