Description
Overton Bank House is a building that dates from the mid-19th century and was formerly known as No. 5 Overton Bank. It is currently used as a shop with accommodation above. The building has a brick exterior and a slate roof. The upper half of the house is double-pile in plan, and the rear elevation features a round-arched stair window.
The exterior consists of three storeys and a three-window range. It has a central stepped round-arched entrance with a traceried fanlight. To the left, there is a 4-pane sash window with a painted stone or plaster head. On the right, an early 20th-century shop front has been inserted, featuring leaded upper lights. The first floor has outer windows that are mullioned and transomed, with the central window renewed in its original opening and topped with an entablature hood. A continuous stone cill band runs along the building, and the second storey has 4 and 6-pane sash windows. The building is finished with a moulded wood eaves cornice and has end wall stacks. The interior has not been inspected.
