Description
This barn, located about 15 metres west of Sock Dennis Farmhouse, is likely from the 18th century. It is constructed from ham stone that has been cut and squared, with ashlar dressings and large slabs of local lias stone. The original thatched roof has been replaced with a corrugated iron sheet roof. The barn is a single-storey structure with seven bays and features an early type king post with brace trussed roof.
On the north side, the first bay includes an 18th-century style door and a three-light plain casement window, both set under flat voussoired arches. Bays three, four, five, and six have narrow centre doors between rendered brick raking buttresses, with each section of wall made from a single lias stone slab. The internal partitions are also made from stone slabs. The east gable, which is coped, features another early door and a gable window.
