Description
The Strode Chest Tomb, located 11 metres southeast of the south porch of the Church of Saint Mary, is a late 18th-century chest tomb made of Ham stone. It has a rectangular plan with apsidal ends and features sunken basil simple bolection-moulded flank panels along with semi-cylindrical ends. The tomb is topped with a shaped and moulded hipped top. It commemorates William and Joan Strode, who both died in 1782.
