Description

The Clarke Chest Tomb, located 4 metres east-south-east of the south porch of the Church of Saint Mary, is an early 18th-century chest tomb made of Ham stone with a rectangular plan. It features a cyma recta moulding at the base, plain panels, and recessed pilasters on the sides, along with recessed panels on the ends. The top is hipped, steeply pitched, and has a rather thin moulding. This tomb commemorates Susanna, the daughter of John and Grace Clarke, who died in 1703.
