Description

This building is an outbuilding located 8 metres southeast of Keyford House. It is likely of 17th century origin and was formerly used as stables and a cottage, though it has been partly adapted for use as a garage. The structure is made of ham stone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a thatched roof with a coped gable at the east end. Notable architectural details include ovolo-moulded mullioned windows, with one located at first floor level on the north side set into the thatch, and another in the east gable. Below the east gable window is a cambered arched doorway, which is set in a flat-headed chamfered recess with cusped spandril panels; this doorway may date from the 18th century. The roof framework has been modernized.
