Description
The Richard Prior chest tomb, located 6 metres west of the tower at the Church of St James, is a Grade II listed structure. This chest tomb commemorates Richard Chanelle Alexander Prior, who died in 1902, and dates from the early 20th century. It is constructed from ashlar sandstone and features a moulded plinth and a steeply chamfered cornice. The tomb is part of a notable group of chest tombs in the area.
