Description
The Chave chest tomb, located approximately 500 millimetres west of the porch of the Church of St Peter, is a Grade II listed structure dated 1827 in memory of Richard Chave. It is made of Portland stone and features sides that are panelled with plain clasping pilasters at each corner. The tomb has a chamfered plinth and a soffit-moulded flat lid. The southern panel is inscribed with Roman serif upper and lower case lettering, which commemorates the death of Richard Chave in 1827.
