ST41SW MERRIOTT CP MOORLANDS ROAD (South side)

2/150 Main entrance gateway and side 9/150 walling to Moorlands (also known as Glen House), about 50 metres to west

GV II

Entrance gateway. C19, possibly designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott, architect. Ham stone ashlar. Walling about 1.25 metres high, having moulded plinth and roll-top angled coping, with serpentine double curve sweeps into the gateway, marked by square gate piers having diagonally set sub-piers, double step and hipped moulded tops: pair of probably early C20 cast iron gates. Included primarily for group value with Moorlands (qv).
