Description
This is an 18th-century headstone located about 9 meters south of the tower of the Church of St Aldhelm and St Eadburgha in Broadway village. It is made of Ham stone and stands approximately 1.3 meters high. The headstone features a shaped top with angels' heads on either side of an hourglass, volutes at the corners, and a decorative surround. There is a central drop in the fork of a tassel, and it is inscribed on both sides, although the text is illegible. The verso has a deep chamfer. This headstone is a fine example of 18th-century design and is part of a notable group of monuments in the churchyard.
