Description
The walled gardens located about 70 meters south of the frontage of Edington House date from the late 18th century. They are constructed from coursed and squared rubble and Flemish bond brick, with pantiled cappings. The gardens consist of two attached square sections; the garden to the west is completely enclosed, while the garden to the east is open on its north side. The walls are high, and the wall separating the two gardens features an attached rubble shelter with a pantiled roof. The wall at the frontage rises to form a pediment, which includes a central circular opening with a casement and a low doorway. There is also a doorway on the roadside with a plank door. These gardens are included primarily for their group value with Edington House.
