Description

This milepost, located in Corfe Village, dates back to the 1860s and has been repaired in the late 20th century. It is made of cast iron and has a V-shaped plan with a hollow section and a sloping top. The north face is inscribed in raised letters with "Taunton 4 miles," while the south face reads "Honiton 14 3/8." The plinth displays the name of the iron founders, Allan and Co. Although the post has been shattered, it has been restored. This milepost is part of a notable group of mileposts along the Taunton-Honiton road.
