Description
Corfe Cottage Lodge is a 19th-century lodge that serves as a dwelling and is associated with Barton Grange. The building features chert random rubble with buff brick dressings and composite blocks that have incised designs. It has a steeply pitched roof covered in decorative clay tiles arranged in a diaper pattern, with overhanging eaves, bargeboards, sprockets, and decorative ridge tiles. There are six tall circular brick pots set on a square base at the center. The lodge has a T-plan layout with monopitch extensions on either side of the east wing.
The south front is one and a half storeys high, with a gable end on the left. It includes two and three-light chamfered wooden mullions with run-out stops and relieving arches featuring decorative keystones. The upper storey on the right has a fully glazed porch with nine-pane fixed lights flanking a three-quarter glazed door with a decorative light. The entrance is now through a 20th-century single-storey addition on the left return.
