Description
The lodge, dating from the mid-19th century, is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a chamfered plinth, quoins, and coped gables topped with ball finials. It has a 20th-century tiled roof and a moulded stone lateral stack. The building has a T-shaped plan and is two stories high with a one-window range. The ground floor includes a canted bay window, while the first floor has a 2-light mullioned window. A plank door with an elliptical-headed surround is situated in a lean-to porch on the left side. To the right, there is a one-storey range that projects out and has a chamfered light in its gabled end. The lodge is connected to the left by 19th-century railings to a gatepier that likely dates from the 17th century, featuring a moulded cornice and a ball finial. An iron gate is attached to the left. This structure is included for its group value with Barton House.
