Description
The monument to John Wride is located approximately 150 metres northeast of Magnolia House. It dates from 1710 and consists of a plain rectangular headstone featuring a dedicatory inscription, along with a smaller footstone that has a cambered head inscribed with "JW JW". This site is believed to be the burial place of a non-conformist. Magnolia House is thought to have served as a non-conformist meeting place in the 18th century. The monument is noted as a rare survival of a burial in unconsecrated ground.
