BURNHAM WITHOUT CP WATCHFIELD Monument to John Wride, approximately 150 metres North East of Magnolia House

Head and footstone to John Wride. Dated 1710. Plain rectangular head-stone with a dedicatory inscription; smaller footstone with a cambered head inscribed:- "JW JW". Believed to be the burial place of a non-conformist. Magnolia House (qv) thought to be a non-conformist meeting-place in the C18. Included as a rare survival of a burial in unconsecrated ground.
