Description

Vernon House is a detached house dating to the early 19th century, situated at No. 34 Hurst in Martock. The front of the building is constructed of finely dressed ham stone ashlar, while the sides and rear are of squared rubble. The roof is covered in asbestos cement slate and features brick chimney stacks. The house is two storeys high and has three bays. It has a plinth and contains 12-pane sash windows set in plain surrounds with keystoned lintels. A Regency-style six-panel door is positioned under a fanlight in a semi-circular arched recess, located in the lower bay of the second window. The interior of the building has not been inspected.
