Description

Paddock House is a detached house dating to the 17th century, with later modifications. It is constructed of ham stone, squared in appearance, with ashlar dressings. The roof is covered in triple angle clay tiles between raised coped gables, indicating a former thatched roof, and features brick chimney stacks. The south elevation is set at a right angle to the road and comprises two storeys and five bays, the first two bays having a different construction to the rest. It has hollow-chamfered mullioned windows with 2, 2, 3, 3, and 3 lights above, and 3, 1, 4, and 4 lights below. A continuous stepped label above the lower bays (3 to 5) emphasises them; the other windows lack labels. A chamfered, cambered-arched doorway with a 20th-century door is located in the lower bay 4. An outshut is located at the rear. The east gable features a two-light window with a label and unworked top mitres. The interior was not inspected.
