Lloyds Bank, With Dolphin Cottage Attached To South

Lloyds Bank, with Dolphin Cottage attached to the south, is a building dating from the late 18th century that has been adapted in the 20th century. The structure is rendered with Ham stone dressings and is colourwashed. It features a hipped Welsh slate roof on the main house and plain clay tiles on the eastern extension, with no visible chimney stacks. The building stands three storeys high and has a three-bay façade. It includes a plinth, a rusticated ashlar ground floor, rusticated quoins above, and a moulded eaves course. The windows are sash types in architraved surrounds, with 12-pane segmental arched openings on the first floor and 6-pane flat arched openings on the second. The ground floor has 20th-century windows and a central door with a fanlight.

To the east, there is a two-storey, three-bay extension, also modified in the 18th century, featuring an eaves course and a rendered fascia band. The upper windows are architraved and consist of segmental arched 12-pane sashes, though some bars have been removed in the first bay, which has thick glazing bars. The lower level has plain 20th-century windows. There is a further flat-roofed extension on the west side, which is not of special interest. At the rear, there is a range that was formerly several cottages, standing two storeys high with a clay pantiled roof that is hipped at the south end. This section features a large central brick chimney stack with curved tapers. The interiors have not been seen.
